Ingredients

  • 1 cup sourdough starter
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Combine the sourdough starter, water, and salt in a large bowl. Stir until well mixed.
  2. Gradually stir in the flour until a shaggy dough begins to form.
  3. Dust your countertop with flour and knead the dough for about 10 minutes until it becomes smooth and soft.
  4. Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let it rise for 4-5 hours or until it has doubled in size.
  5. Gently deflate the dough and shape it into a round loaf. Place on a floured baking sheet.
  6. Let the loaf rise for another 2-3 hours.
  7. Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).
  8. Score the top of the loaf with a sharp knife.
  9. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until golden brown.
  10. Allow the bread to cool completely before slicing.
