Description

A delicious recipe for creamy, cheesy scalloped potatoes, perfect for family gatherings and cozy dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 large potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon paprika (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a greased baking dish, layer half of the sliced potatoes at the bottom.
  3. Top with half of the sliced onions, followed by half of the cheese.
  4. Repeat the layers with the remaining potatoes, onions, and cheese.
  5. In a saucepan, heat the heavy cream, butter, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika until the butter melts.
  6. Pour the cream mixture evenly over the layered potatoes.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 60-75 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender.
  8. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

You can prepare the dish a day ahead and refrigerate it until ready to bake. For even cooking, use a mandoline slicer for uniform potato slices.
