- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
- 1 1/2 cups warm water (110°F)
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted)
Instructions
- Dissolve the yeast and sugar in warm water; let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- Combine the flour and salt in a large mixing bowl.
- Add the frothy yeast mixture and melted butter to the flour mixture.
- Mix until a dough forms, then knead on a floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until smooth.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours until doubled in size.
- Punch down the dough, shape it into a loaf, and place it in a greased loaf pan.
- Let it rise again for about 30-45 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.
- Allow to cool before slicing.
