Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef (halal)
  • 4 large potatoes, peeled and sliced
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your favorite cheese)
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup (10.5 oz)
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the ground beef and onion in a skillet over medium heat until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Layering the casserole: In a greased baking dish, layer half of the potatoes, then half of the beef, and half of the cheese. Repeat layers.
  4. Mix the cream of mushroom soup and milk until smooth, then pour over the layered ingredients.
  5. Bake covered with foil for 30 minutes, then remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes.
  6. Serve after cooling slightly and garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
