- 4 large potatoes, peeled and sliced
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your favorite cheese)
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup (10.5 oz)
- 1/2 cup milk
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cook the ground beef and onion in a skillet over medium heat until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
- Layering the casserole: In a greased baking dish, layer half of the potatoes, then half of the beef, and half of the cheese. Repeat layers.
- Mix the cream of mushroom soup and milk until smooth, then pour over the layered ingredients.
- Bake covered with foil for 30 minutes, then remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes.
- Serve after cooling slightly and garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
