Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9-inch baking pan.
  2. Combine the melted butter and sugar in a large bowl, whisking until smooth.
  3. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing well until creamy.
  4. Stir in the sourdough starter discard until fully integrated.
  5. Sift together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt in another bowl.
  6. Mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  7. Fold in the chocolate chips if desired.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
  9. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  10. Let cool before slicing into squares and serving.
