Description

A comforting pasta dish featuring creamy sauce and tender penne, perfect for weeknight dinners and meal prep.


Ingredients

  • 8 oz penne pasta
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tsp olive oil for sautéing

Instructions

  1. Cook the penne according to package instructions until al dente. Once done, drain and reserve 1 cup of the pasta water.
  2. Add the olive oil to a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, sauté the diced onion and minced garlic until fragrant, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spatula as it cooks. Continue until browned, about 7 minutes, seasoning with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
  4. Lower the heat and stir in the heavy cream. Gradually add the reserved pasta water until you reach your desired sauce consistency.
  5. Mix in the grated Parmesan cheese and stir until melted into the sauce.
  6. Add the cooked penne to the skillet and toss gently until evenly coated.
  7. Serve hot, garnished with additional Parmesan or fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

For a spicy kick, consider adding red pepper flakes. This dish tastes even better as leftovers the next day!
