- 3 cups jalapeño slices
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon turmeric
- 1 teaspoon ginger
Instructions
- Start by preparing your jars and lids. Sterilize them in boiling water to ensure your Cowboy Candy lasts.
- In a saucepan, combine the sugar, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, onion powder, turmeric, and ginger.
- Bring the mixture to a boil, stirring gently to dissolve the sugar.
- Add the sliced jalapeños to the boiling syrup and boil for 4-5 minutes until tender.
- Carefully fill the sterilized jars with jalapeños and pour syrup over the top, leaving 1/4 inch headspace.
- Wipe the rims clean, seal with lids, and process in a water bath canner for 10-15 minutes.
- Allow the jars to cool completely before storing in a cool, dark place.
Notes
Use gloves when slicing jalapeños to avoid skin irritation. Store sealed jars in a cool, dark place for maximum shelf life.
