- 1 cup strong brewed coffee, cooled
- 1/2 cup cherry juice
- 24 ladyfingers
- 1 cup mascarpone cheese
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 cup fresh cherries, pitted and chopped
- 1/2 cup cherry sauce (store-bought or homemade)
- Cocoa powder for dusting
Instructions
- Combine the brewed coffee and cherry juice in a small bowl.
- Dip each ladyfinger briefly in the coffee mixture and layer them in a trifle dish.
- Whip the heavy cream in a mixing bowl until soft peaks form, then fold in the mascarpone and powdered sugar until smooth.
- Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers.
- Layer half of the chopped cherries on top.
- Repeat with another layer of dipped ladyfingers, the remaining mascarpone mixture, and chopped cherries.
- Drizzle the cherry sauce over the top layer.
- Chill for at least 240 minutes or overnight.
- Dust with cocoa powder before serving for the perfect finishing touch.
